Jolen Creme Bleach Review.
My eyebrows have always been a little too dark compared to my hair color, even my natural color. So a few days ago I did some research on lightening eyebrows. I read that the best method of lightening eyebrows was to use bleach designed for facial hair. I went to the drug store and the only product I could find was Jolen Creme Bleach, so I decided to try it. There were two formulas, a regular one and a mild formula with aloe. I decided to go for the mild box to avoid irritation with my skin. For the small square box it was $7.00.
The instructions said to wash the area with soap and water before applying the mixture, and it said to leave the product on for about 10 minutes. Inside the box was the bottle of creme, and a bottle of accelerator. The instructions tell you how to mix it. I don't think I mixed it long enough, because it was a little difficult to apply to my eyebrows and very thick and clumpy. I made sure to cover my eyebrows completely and I ended up with a fair amount on my skin. I waited about 10 minutes, perhaps a little more then wiped it off with a tissue. I really noticed the effects after I washed my eyebrows with a light cleanser. I applied conditioner to my eyebrows for a few minutes to reduce any irritation then washed them again.
I am quite satisfied with the results, my eyebrows are pretty much the same color as my hair now, perhaps a little lighter than I would've wanted but it'll be easy to darken them if I need to. I have noticed no irritation to my skin, even where the bleach was. As for any stinging or burning during the process I hardly noticed any, the bleach has a slight chemical scent to it, but it's comparable to the smell of hair dye.
Overall I would recommend this product to anyone looking to lighten their eyebrows, I've read reviews that it also works great on any facial hair, even arm or stomach hair. It was rather simple to use and I feel it is worth what you pay for it. My only tip would be to be careful how long you leave it on for depending how much lighter you wish to bleach your hair, it took my eyebrows from a dark blonde/medium brown to light brown/blonde without any orangeness. :)
